Participant Age:

• 14+ with proper identification 
• 21+ Must have a valid New York State Pistol Permit to handle a pistol or revolver

Class Level: Beginner to Moderate

Cost:   

• $65 for non “A Girl and A Gun” members
• $45 for active members of “A Girl and A Gun” ($20 discount)

This class, specifically designed for women, is for those who own a firearm and are not sure how to clean it properly.  Whether it is a handgun or a long gun, our experienced instructors will explain and demonstrate the proper techniques on gun cleaning and assist the students step by step the proper break down, cleaning, and reassembly of a firearm.  Students are required to bring their own firearm legally owned by the participant.  Each student is only allowed one (1) firearm, per person for this session (firearms are not for rent).  It is suggested that each student purchase a gun cleaning kit or supplies prior to attending this session.  Supplies are available in the Artemis store.  Active members of A Girl and A Gun (AG & AG) can sign up for the discounted session.  If you are not a member of the AG & AG WESTCHESTER CHAPTER, please bring a copy of the page “My Subscription” for confirmation the day of. 

Course format:  Classroom lecture and demonstration

Who should attend: This is an introduction course for women, that is designed to help each participant learn the proper techniques to clean their firearm.

• Basic firearms safety
• General firearm knowledge
• How to clean their firearm

Closing:  Upon successful completion of the course, examination, and qualification, participants will receive the following:

• Certificate of completion from Artemis.

Provided by Artemis:

• Gun cleaning merchandise is for purchase up to thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of the session (while supplies last) in our store
• Instructors will go over the supplies the student produces and can supplement, if available

Required by All Participants:

• Present one (1) unloaded firearm they want to learn how to clean properly
• NO AMMUNIITON IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
• On-Time attendance and participation in all parts
• Firearms for this session cannot be rented

Suggested for All Participants:

• Pad and pen to take notes

Minimum/Maximum per class:

• 4 student minimum/16 student maximum
