KNIFE COMBATIVES: OFFENSIVE USE & DEFENDING AGAINST SESSION

|CLASS LEVEL: BEGINNER
This course is an excellent introduction to learn the fundamental principles of using a knife, whether offensively or defensively. There is no live fire range training offered during this session.
Course format:
Classroom lecture physical participation.
Who should attend:
Students who are interested in developing the fundamentals of using an edged weapon offensively, defending against a knife, and creating an opportunity for the student to access their own personal everyday carry (EDC) self-defense tool.
Key Topics Covered:
• Efficient ways to avoid or shutdown an attack
• Options to consider in a physical encounter
• Defend against a handheld attack from edge weapon (knife)
• Selection of everyday carry (EDC) knife, brands, knife metal types, fixed, folding, auto, assisted, blade type, and length
• Transitioning between hands on and using a knife on the offense
• Situational awareness
Upon successful completion of the course, examination, and qualification, participants will receive a Certification of Completion from Artemis Shooting Sports and Training Academy.

NO LIVE FIREARMS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM DURING THIS SESSION. FIREARMS ARE EITHER STORED INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE TO NEW YORK STATE STANDARDS OR AT HOME.
Comfortable clothing or workout clothes, shirt with sleeves (no sleeveless attire), sweatshirt, sweatpants, shorts (these must cover at least half of the thigh), sneakers or shoes worn with socks (no bare feet)
