What hours are you open?

We have recently revised our business hours as part of our ongoing commitment to excellent service. The store is now open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am till 6pm, and closed on Sunday and Monday. The range is open daily from 10am till 6pm, with late night hours till 8pm Wednesday through Saturday.
 

How can I reserve a lane on the range?

Lanes are first come, first served. Just stop by the range and sign in to get on.
 

I'm looking for a specific firearm, do you have it in stock?

Our store inventory changes daily, we advise you call us at 914-560-8431 during store hours with your specific request and speak directly to one of our Firearm Counter Associates for the most up to date in-stock information.
 

What do I need to bring with me for my booked course?

Please show up with a printout of your original booked confirmation email showing proof of payment, and something to take notes with if you should choose to take notes during class. We will provide everything else needed for all our booked courses. No paperwork or course material is sent out in advance.


Who, if anyone, is exempt from taking the 18-hour course?

As of March 20, 2023, active/retired Police Officers, active/retired Armed Peace Officers, retired or retiring Federal Law Enforcement Officers, and active/honorably discharged Veterans of the US Armed Forces are exempt. In addition, if you have graduated the NYS Bureau of Municipal Police training, have completed NYS Armed Peace Officer training, are currently in possession of a HR-218, or have completed the 40-hour Armed Security Guard Course, then you are also exempt.
 

What attire is required for me to enter the range?

You must wear ear and eye protection prior to entering the range. For your own safety we do not allow tank tops, sleeveless shirts, low cut shirts, or open toed shoes.
 

Are there any types of ammo banned on the range?

No steel core, steel case, green tip, black tip, or red tip ammo is allowed on the range. Violators will be asked to leave and will be held liable for any damage to the range.
 

Do I need a license to shoot on the range?

You do need a pistol permit to shoot a pistol in NYS but you can rent other types of firearms without, just have regular ID ready. 
 

Am I allowed to draw from the holster?

If you are Law Enforcement, yes.  If you are a civilian, you must demonstrate to the RSO on duty at the time of your visit that you can do so safely.  
 

Is there anything I need to know if I want to bring my son/daughter with me to the range?

Young shooters must at least be 12 years of age with picture ID and birth certificate, as well as accompanied by a parent/guardian (with proper documentation of guardianship) to shoot a rifle or shotgun.
 

What is the youngest age to shoot a pistol?

In NY the age is between 14-20 years old with a NRA instructor. Artemis' private instructors are all NRA certified and available for booking under Class Registration. Anyone 21 years of age or over must have a current valid license.
